NEWARK & SHERWOOD ALLOCATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT

DEVELOPMENT PLAN DOCUMENT

In November 2011 Southwell Civic Society responded to a public consultation by Newark and Sherwood District Council on their Allocations and Development Management Options Report. This report included recommendations for the allocation of land for residential and commercial development in Southwell up to 2026. Southwell Civic Society proposed alternative allocations that would avoid some of the environmentally damaging development that would result from the District Council's allocations. In March 2012 Newark & Sherwood District Council produced the next stage of their consultation on the Development Plan. The documents produced in this consultation were considered by the Society and the following responses were made:

In May 2012 Newark & Sherwood District Council produced the Publication Development Plan Document. The Society has made representations on this document which will be submitted to the Secretary of State. To see the Society's representations - Click Here

In December 2012 Newark and Sherwood District Council held an Examination in Public of the Allocations and Development Management Development Plan Document. The independent examination was carried out by an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State. Members of the Civic Society spoke at the inspection and presented the Society's case.

In February 2013 Newark and Sherwood District Council produced the Final Modifications to the Development Plan Document. To see the Society's representations - Click Here
