Civic Society objects to latest proposals for Old School Site |

Southwell's Roman Heritage - Old Minster School Site, Church Street
A further planning application has been made to the Newark and Sherwood District Council in July 2010 for the development of this site. The Civic Society has objected to these latest proposals. Its letter to the Council outlining these objections may be read here

The planning application for a Burial Site on Cundy Hill, Westhorpe, Southwell was amended in the week before Christmas to include the erection of a brick-built burial records store. (Application No. 09/01573/FUL) Southwell Civic Society objected to the original application on a number of grounds, and this amendment does not alter that objection. The Southwell Town Council Planning Committee discussed this amendment at a meeting on Wednesday 6th January 2010. The next stage will be the final decision by Newark & Sherwood District Council Planning Committee. The date when the Planning Committee will consider this application is not yet known as an additional wildlife survey is being carried out on the site. Be first to comment this article |
